John Burden College of Health Science (JBC) is a Christian school which supports the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist church. JBC was founded with the specific goal of training missionaries to support the healing ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist church.
JBC also recognizes the potentially adverse effects of industry and corporate influence on education, research, healthcare and academic freedom.
Thus, to preserve its integrity, founding principles and academic freedom, JBC will never accept any funding, donations or other types of financial support from:
Any level of government: municipal, provincial or federal
Organizations affiliated with the government
Other religious institutions and organizations not in alignment with the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church
Businesses that sell products and services or practice and operate in ways that do not align with the teachings and mission of the Seventh-day Adventist church
John Burden College is not opposed to students receiving government financial support in the form of loans, bursaries, grants, etc.
John Burden College of Health Science is a school focused on health education. To maintain independence and avoid any undue influence, JBC will not accept funding, donations or other types of financial support from:
supplement companies
pharmaceutical companies
companies selling medical equipment
No official representative of a supplement, pharmaceutical or medical equipment company will be part of the Board of Trustees or the leadership of John Burden College.
